One bright afternoon, Santa’s head elf, Jingle,
Snow White’s dwarfs, the three little pigs, and the three bears
decided to go on a picnic in the enchanted forest. They packed a big basket with sandwiches, butter, cheese, and a big chocolate birthday cake for Grumpy the dwarf, who was turning a year older. Grumpy pretended to be grumpy about it, but really, he was happy to be celebrating. “This is going to be the best picnic ever!” Jingle cheered. “We have everything we need!” As they walked through the forest, the sun was shining, and the flowers were in full bloom, looking like they had been painted in bright colors. Suddenly, they heard a funny noise. “Did anyone else hear that?” asked Bashful, one of the dwarfs, who was a little afraid. “Maybe it’s just the wind,” guessed Papa Bear. “Let’s keep going.” They found a nice spot by the river, spread out their colorful blanket, and started to unpack their picnic. Everyone was excited to eat breakfast together, especially Grumpy, though he pretended not to care about his birthday. They took out the creamy butter and delicious cheese to spread on their sandwiches. “This cheese is so tasty!” said one of the little pigs, chomping away. Just then, a bright red balloon floated down from the sky and landed right on their blanket! “Hello! Where did that come from?” Baby Bear exclaimed, pointing at the balloon. “It looks like a circus balloon!” Doc the dwarf said, scratching his head. “Maybe there’s a circus nearby,” said Mama Bear. “Wouldn’t that be something?” But before anyone could say anything else, they heard a loud scream from across the river. “Help! Help!” someone was calling. “Someone’s in trouble!” said Jingle, jumping up. “We should go help quickly!” Everyone dashed across the river, hopping over rocks and branches until they found a big brown horse stuck in the mud. The poor horse looked afraid. “Oh, hello! I’m afraid I can’t move,” said the horse. “I was on my way to the circus, and I got stuck. Can anyone help me?” “Of course we can help!” Jingle replied. “Let’s get you out of there, Mr. Horse.” Everyone worked together to pull the horse from the thick, heavy mud. Papa Bear pulled on a branch to help balance, and the three little pigs pushed with all their might. Grumpy muttered, “This is why I forgot to like birthdays,” but he laughed a little as he heaved. Finally, with one big pull, they got the horse free. “Thank you so much!” the horse said, stretching his legs. “I would have missed the circus without you.” “You’re welcome!” they all said, happy to have helped. They walked back to their picnic spot, talking about their funny adventure with the horse. But when they returned, they found that the balloon had floated straight into their basket! “This is turning into one crazy day,” said Sleepy, who yawned and laughed at the same time. “But it’s not over yet!” said Jingle with a big grin. “It’s time for Grumpy’s birthday cake!” Everyone cheered and sang “Happy Birthday” to Grumpy. He looked a little embarrassed but blew out the candles and made a quiet wish. “I wish for more adventures with my friends,” he said. After they finished the cake, they decided to play some games. They held a race to see who could climb the tallest tree the fastest. The three little pigs, who were quick and clever, won the prize, but everyone had fun cheering each other on. As the sun began to set, they packed up their basket and got ready to head home. “This was the best birthday ever,” Grumpy finally admitted, almost smiling. “Let’s make sure we do it again soon!” said Jingle with a wink. They walked home together, laughing and talking about their amazing day. As they looked up at the early evening sky, they knew one thing for sure—with friends like these, every day was an adventure.
