I believe that there are
many correct
answers.
Example: "Rory, Jordan, Patrick, Charles, Tiger, Ron”
While the clues link the relative performances of Rory-Patrick-Tiger
and of Jordan-Charles-Ron, the clues give no indication as to the
performances of any member of either threesome relative to any member
of the other threesome.
Thus, as long as the members of each threesome remain in the sequence
of Rory-Patrick-Tiger and Jordan-Charles-Ron, it does not matter which
of
these sequences comes first.
Furthermore, the members of each sequence can be interspersed with
members of the other sequence.
For example, the clue, “Rory is better than
Patrick” is not
inconsistent with the possibility that, “Rory is better than
Jordan” and/or “Jordan is better
than Patrick”.
Not that it should affect the answer, but the clue, “Patrick
is
neither first or last” has no importance, because the clues,
“Rory is better than Patrick”
and
“Patrick is better than Tiger” already indicate
that
Patrick cannot be first or last.
