Divide 3 (an odd whole number) into half (do not indicate remainders)
Example :3 divided into half = 1
Add the numbers (numerator and denominator) of the fraction : 1+3 = 4
Multiply the bottom number (denominator) of the fraction by 2
Example : 3 x 2 = 6
Answer : 1 4/6

10 1/8  is a mixed number with an even whole number
Divide 10 (an even whole number) into half.
Example :10 divided into half = 5
Do not change the top number (numerator) = 1
Multiply the bottom number (denominator) of the fraction by 2
Example : 8 x 2 = 16
Answer : 5 1/16

123 12/37 is a mixed number with an odd whole number.
Divide 123 (an odd whole number) into half (do not indicate remainders)
Example :123 divided into half = 61
Add the numbers (numerator and denominator) of the fraction : 12+37 = 49
